CHIROPRACTIC: Dr. Ava Frick is certified by American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Animal chiropractic comprises the adjustment (a short lever, high velocity maneuver) of immobile vertebral, extremities, and cranial joints. Immobile joints, called subluxations, are 1-3mm spinal misalignments or joint dysfunctions resulting in biomechanical or neurological dysfunction. Joints lacking optimal motion soon become arthritic and can lead to systemic body degeneration as well.
ACUPUNCTURE: Dr. Sheila Snodgrass is certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Acupuncture is the virtually painless insertion of small needles into specific points on the body to cause a healing effect. It is indicated mainly for functional problems, noninfectious inflammation, and pain in muscle and joints, skin, lungs, GI and reproductive organs. The initial consultation is 60 minutes with at least two more weekly treatments.
GENERAL HEALTH ASSESSMENT: Be it rabbits, cats, rats, or dogs, we want to be able to deliver medical care for them, whatever the condition at hand. Our practice focuses on bringing the body back to optimal function so that it can thrive. The young stay healthier and the old get younger! Much of this is achieved through nutritional support, herbs, body conditioning, and us spending the time to really listen to your needs and what you want for your pet.
REHABILITATION AND PAIN MANAGEMENT: For the injured and the old, from the lame to the paralyzed, for the arthritic and the obese, Eliminating pain is what we do BEST! We have many safe avenues outside of traditional drug therapy by which we can get your best friend “up and at ‘em” again. Seeing is believing. It has happened for many, it can happen for you.

GAIT ANALYSIS, GONIOMETER (for Range of Motion), BODY MEASUREMENTS, COLOR & CHARACTER OF THE TONGUE, PULSE – These are some of the unique tools and measuring devices (which you would not likely find in many traditional type veterinary practices) we use to assess the health and progress of your animal’s recuperation.
FUR ANALYSIS – Taking a sample of fur can yield more answers about your animal’s condition than many blood tests, especially when we are concerned about toxicities and mineral imbalances.
INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY (IRT) - is a noninvasive physiological test using a specified infrared camera for imaging and computer soft ware for picture interpretation. IRT measures surface body temperatures and reveals areas of inflammation (hot) and nerve dysfunction (cold). Bob Winship,
Thermographer and owner of Midwest Infrared Services LLC, provides this service for us by appointment.
LABORATORY PROFILES – Vaccine titers, pituitary and thyroid assessment, general total body functions, infectious diseases, intestinal function and microflora are some of the many tests we
offer our patients.
UNI-CAM BIOFEEDBACK ANALYSIS – A quadruped biofeedback system that measures weight distribution through four paws allows us to better diagnose the affected limb and monitor improvements through the printed report.
VETSURVEY – This is a questionnaire that only you, the owner, can adequately answer because nobody knows your animal like you do. It is based on the body systems and the symptoms
which give us clues to his overall health. The answers are tabulated by a computerized program that indicates which of the Standard Process® or MediHerb nutritional vitamins, minerals, and supplements could best benefit your dog or cat.

ALPHA-STIM® MICROCURRENT THERAPY – is safe and highly effective for anxiety, depression, pain, and tissue healing. With over 25 years of scientific research in animals and humans this is safer and more cost effective than drugs. Nerve cells and tissue is positively affected to produce the greatest possible healing response. This is one of the devices that we oft en lease for at-home therapy or you may chose to purchase.
INFRARED (IFR) SAUNA - This sauna can deliver a specific wavelength of light from the sun that is the safest and most beneficial. Its effect is to stimulate blood circulation, increase metabolism and promote tissue regeneration. FIR penetrates 4-5 centimeters into the dermis, can eliminate waste & toxic products, increases ability of lungs to absorb oxygen, reduces over-stimulation of sensory nerves and balances autonomic nerve function. Treatments last 10 – 20 minutes for animals and 20-60 minutes for people. FIR sauna therapy helps with joint pain, muscle stretching, immune function, fatigue, skin conditions, and toxicity.
INFRATONIC CHI-GONG (QGM) THERAPY – Chronic pain can interfere with all aspects of your pet’s daily life. QGM is a gentle penetrating massage action that loosens and relaxes muscles, enhances local circulation, increases energy level and well being. Where years ago Chinese therapist were trained on the skills of administering a specific erratic beat by their hands we now have a device to deliver their technique. Older patients particularly enjoy the residual effects of this 10 minute massage.
LAND TREADMILL – For those who don’t need the support, resistance, or buoyancy of the water but are still wanting to build muscle tone and function.
LASER THERAPY – Laser is light wavelength energy that can benefit cases of chronic otitis, wounds, burns, ulcers, arthritis, neuralgia caused by active trigger points, nerve & spinal cord injuries, sprains, strains, and circulatory improvement in general. It effectively prevents repetitive strain injuries and infections, reduces swelling, tissue trauma, fractures, aids in analgesia and can accelerate callus formation of bone fractures.
PULSED SIGNAL THERAPY – Biomagnetic pulsed signals are used to promote new bone and cartilage growth treating conditions such as arthritis and other chronic diseases of the joints, muscles, discs, tendons, and nerves. Nine 30-minute treatments are administered by the owner any time of day or night in our exercise room.
ULTRASOUND THERAPY – Ultrasound waves introduced through a “sound head” can penetrate tissue, heating while it promotes healing by stimulating enzymatic activity, increased cellular metabolism, improved circulation, and increasing strength and pliability of tendons. The fur must be shaved to deliver this treatment every other day for a varying length of time pending the condition being treated. US is used for muscle spasm & injury, adhesions, scar tissue, tendon & ligament
injuries, bone spurs, osteoarthritis and joint contractures.
UNDERWATER TREADMILL – Nothing compares when it comes to helping regain strength, the use of an injured or paralyzed leg(s), or losing weight for the severely obese. The water offers a safe means of relearning how to ambulate while the treadmill helps to initiate gait movement. Temperature is a comfortable 87-92 degrees.

STEPS, CAVALETTI, WEAVE POLES, BALLS, WOBBLE BOARDS, SIT BOARDS, CUSTOMIZED EXERCISES – These are just some of the many ways we can help you to re-educate your dog or horse to obtain optimal gait and movement function. |
